Well Water Testing

Q: I have a well and would like my water tested to see if it is safe to drink, what should I test for?

A: For an existing well we recommend that the water be tested for bacteria. A sample container with a form and instructions can be picked up at any of our offices. There is a fee for the bacteria test.

For a new well final inspection, there must be a chain of custody for the test sample. The test sample must be collected on site by a certified technician. If we provide this service there is a trip fee.

If you want your water tested for chemicals, there is a fee for each chemical you wish to test for.

For more information please contact one of our field offices or the Environmental Health Lab.
