Septic Tank Overflow

Q: My neighbor's septic tank is overflowing on the ground and the smell is terrible, what can be done about this?

A: Our department will take down the address and name of the occupant where the incident is occurring. An Inspector will then go to the site and conduct an investigation. If the septage is surfacing, the owner of the property will be notified that the problem must be taken care of immediately, as it is a health hazard. They will be instructed on how to get a repair permit from the Environmental Health office so that the problem can be resolved as soon as possible.
