City Water Testing

Q: I have city water and would like to get my water tested, what should I test for?

A: We recommend the water be tested for bacteria. If there is a water filtration system connected to the home we recommend it be tested using the water that comes out of the system. If it comes back positive then the water should be tested from a faucet that does not have the water system attached to it. It can then be determined if the personal water system is the problem.

A sample container with a form and instructions can be picked up at any of our offices. There is a fee for the bacteria test.

If you want your water tested for chemicals, there is a fee for each chemical you wish to test for.

Test samples are not accepted on Friday at the Lab or at any of our offices.

For more information please contact one of our field offices or the Environmental Health Lab.
