Anti-Tobacco Education Classes (ATEC)
Provided by the Volusia County Health Department, these classes are a county school
approved class required for persons cited under section 569.11,
Florida Statutes: possession, misrepresenting age or military
service to purchase, and purchase of tobacco products by persons under 18 years
of age prohibited; penalties; jurisdiction; disposition of fines.
Classes are currently held at the Volusia County Health Department, 1845 Holsonback Drive Daytona Beach, FL 32117,
during the first week of each month. The fee per class is $30.00. The class is held from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM, pre-registration is required;
call (386) 274-0603 for more information. Participants should arrive at 4:15 for registration.
Each participant is required to read and sign
the ATEC Rules upon entering the class.
Anti-Tobacco Education Classroom Rules
- NO USE or Possession of TOBACCO products while on the premises of the Volusia County Health Department.
- No sleeping
- No profanity
- Breaks are at the discretion of facilitator. (If you do not come back on
time you WILL NOT be permitted back into the class and will not complete the Anti-Tobacco Education Class.)
- "If students leave the VCHD grounds before they are picked up,
they are no longer our responsibility. All students should remain on site until they are picked up by parent/guardian."
