A second laboratory confirmed
H1N1 Swine Flu death has been confirmed in that of a
30-year-old female in Seminole County. Florida's first
confirmed death in mid June was a 9-year-old Miami-Dade
County resident. While most cases of H1N1 Swine Flu are
mild, there are exceptions. Pre-existing health condition
often play a role in how individuals react to the flu.

In Florida, an estimated 300,000
individuals are infected with chronic hepatitis C. Most of
them do not know because they have no symptoms. Floridians
may not even be aware of factors that put them at risk, such
as a blood transfusion before 1992, sharing a needle to
inject drugs (even one time 30 years ago), or long-term
kidney dialysis. The Florida Department of Health (DOH)
encourages individuals to get tested to learn their status.

Month.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
it is estimated that 1 of 3 American adults has high blood
pressure or hypertension. In Volusia County, 30 percent of
adults were diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2007
according to the Florida Community Health Assessment
